I am happy to share with you the recap of Nick & Thu’s Romantic 2941 Restaurant Wedding! I was first introduced to Nick & Thu through their daughter who is a photographer friend of ours. It’s quite the honor to be asked to take care of a peer in the wedding industry…especially on such a special day as this one. This was my first time as a 2941 Restaurant Wedding Reception DJ in Falls Church, Virginia, and wow was I impressed with this venue. The backdrop for the evenings festivities was an awesome water view and some fountains filled with Koi Fish! Really awesome surroundings to celebrate such a day.
Cocktails took place outside on the terrace. The lake framed out the background, and I played some tunes from Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble while Nick & Thu took their photos! Right before inviting everyone inside, we had everyone take a group photo with them!
Introductions & First Dance
Next up was the intros of the Wedding Party. The feature song for the walk in was “La Bamba” by Ritchie Valens. Then, as Nick & Thu entered, we swapped the music to “This Magic Moment” by The Drifters. Many of the guests danced as close family members of the bride and groom joined the wedding party for group photos! They are obviously a well loved couple as many of their friends and family traveled from all across the world to join them on their Wedding Day! After these events, Nick & Thu changed into some traditional Vietnamese clothing for their table greetings, and we had lunch.
After the toasts followed, I opened the dance-floor while Nick & Thu re-changed their outfits for the first dance. I thought the multiple wardrobe changes added a really nice touch to this celebration. Once they re-entered the dance area, we held their first dance with Thu wearing a stunning Red Dress!
Once they danced, we opened dance floor and I played hits from the 60’s-80’s followed by some of Thu’s favorite dances in the Swing & Tango genre. Cake-cutting and bouquet toss followed, and the day was capped off with some of Nick’s favorite tunes like “Can’t Help Falling In Love ” by Elvis Presley & “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brother.
What a great celebration. I sincerely love being a wedding DJ because you get to take part in life changing events that are usually positive. My favorite part of the wedding was when we moved everyone outside for the grand exit. They had a Horse & Carriage waiting, and that is always such an elegant way to exit your wedding reception!
I had a such great time celebrating with Nick & Thu!
