Haoxing & Qian Qian decided that a beautiful Historic Rosemont Manor wedding in Berryville, VA was the perfect spot for their special day. I have entertained at many venues as a wedding DJ, but this was the first time I DJ’ed a wedding at the Historic Rosemont Manor. It was awesome! The Ceremony took place on the Lawn behind the Manor, and the Cocktail Hour was held on the Portico. I loved how the Blue Ridge Mountains served as the backdrop for the ceremony.
The Wedding Ceremony
May is the the month of spring showers in Virginia, so we were lucky that there was no rain on this wedding day! For their Prelude music, we had easy listening tunes from artists such as Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson. The Groom along with his Groomsmen & the Officiant walked down first followed by all the bridesmaids! Then it was time for Qian Qian & her parents. She walked down to “Canon In D” by Pachelbel. It was such a beautiful ceremony filled with heart warming vows!
Introductions & First Dance
Just before we invited guests over to the Carriage House for the introductions, Haoxing & Qian Qian decided to do a welcome speech from the Balcony of the Portico where cocktails were taking place. It was so unique to see them give their speech from above with their guests below. Next up came the grand entrance. The Wedding Party came out first to “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Michael Jackson followed by Haoxing & Qian Qian who came out Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love”. Everyone was so ecstatic for their arrival! They went into their first dance after to an cover of “All Of Me” by John Legend.
Their were so many great things that happened at this wedding! The first thing that happened was a singing of an Opera Song by a Semi-Famous Chinese Folk Singer. This was the first I have ever seen this at a Wedding and heard someone sing an Opera song live. The whole room including myself was moved by the energy and beauty of the singers voice! Definitely a moment everyone in attendance would not forget!
After Dinner we announced the winner of the Table Questionnaire game and went straight into Toasts from the Maid of Honor and Best Man! Then Haoxing & his Mother shared their Mother / Son Dance to Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” followed by Qian Qian & her Father to Heartland’s “I Loved Her First”. We went into our Bouquet Toss next and then did a fun dance competition with all the guests that was Judged by Qian Qian. I led the guests in the famous line dance known as the “Cupid Shuffle” for the first minute and then let them show off their best dance moves while following the line dance. The winner of the competition was given a bottle of wine!
After I asked Qian Qian to remain in her seat and asked all the guests to pull out their cameras as Haoxing had a special surprise dance for Qian Qian! He performed an awesome dance routine to an acoustic version of “Shape Of You” by Ed Sheeran for her that blew everyone away. This was my second favorite thing that happened during the wedding! He seriously has some dance moves! We immediately went into opening the dance floor! The dancefloor was packed all night. The last song was”I’ve Had The Time Of My Life” by Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes which everyone made a big circle around the newlyweds. We ended the night off with a big sparkler exit! I’m so grateful to have been apart of this amazing Wedding!
