I’m so happy to finally recap Elissa and Neil’s Woodmont Country Club Wedding Reception as this was one of my favorite weddings ever! I am grateful to have had an opportunity to get to know Elissa and Neil before the wedding. They had visited me at one of my lounge gigs in D.C., and even attended my birthday party! The days leading up to the wedding were so exciting for me as I was looking forward to celebrating this special day with people that have become good friends! Their Wedding took place at the scenic Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Maryland on June 10th, 2017. This was my first time DJing there! I loved the beautiful white dance floor and the flowers from Lisa Ruff of Goodness Gracious Florals. It set the tone for a beautiful wedding!
The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was held outside with a beautiful back drop of greenery. I began the prelude music with Vitamin String Quartet Covers. After the Wedding Party walked out, it was time for Elissa. She walked out to a cover of “A Thousand Year’s” by The Piano Guys with her parents. Our friend Camille Catherine with Camille Catherine Photography was able to capture every beautiful detail of the ceremony!
Introductions & First Dance
After cocktail hour we invited all the guests inside the ballroom for the grand entrance. The room was set with Violet/Blue Uplighting. This was one of my favorite parts of the wedding! To date this was the biggest wedding party I have ever announced. I spent the week leading up to the wedding practicing all the name pronunciations because I wanted it all to go smoothly for my friends.
Neil’s Grandfather was introduced first, then followed the bride and groom’s parent’s. They walked out to “I Can’t Help Myself” by The Four Tops. Next up came the Flower Girl and Ring-Bear along with the Junior Bridesmaid and Groomsmen’s. They walked out to “Party In The USA” by Miley Cirus. Afterwards, we introduced the bridesmaid and groomsmen who walked out to “Feel So Close” by Calvin Harris. Finally came Mr. and Mrs. Neil King who walked out to “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” soundtrack from Lion King. Thank you to Debbie Halpin (Woodmont Country Club Events Coordinator) for assisting me with the entrance! After they had their first dance to “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur.
Dancing
After Dinner, we opened our photobooth. Then we held toasts followed by the cake cutting. Elissa & her father danced first to “Sunrise Sunset” by Lumiere String Quartet followed by Neil & his mother who danced to “Mama’s Song” by Carrie Underwood for about 30 seconds and then cued me to cut the song. Then, as a great surprise to the guest, they cued me to play “Get Low” by Flo Rida. The whole room lost it! Freddie from Bowen Films was able to capture this moment, so we’ll try to share that once we gain access to it! Afterwards, we opened the dance floor to everyone! Elissa & Neil loved a lot of EDM/Dance hits from artists such as “Avicii”, “Calvin Harris”, and “Eric Prydz”. I really loved their music tastes and their chosen playlist! After some dancing, came the traditional bouquet toss and then the Horah, which was a lot of fun. We ended the night with “Levels” by Avicii Elissa and Neil’s favorite song! The energy was so high that I played an encore. This wedding will always have a special place in my heart!
