In a recent blog post, I wrote about the importance of having a consultation and the essential elements that go into one.
In today’s post, I’m giving you a peek at the questions we ask clients during consults. The answers help us create a more personalized entertainment experience for each client. Because if you know even a smidge about Zandi Entertainment, you know we’re about way more than showing up and pressing play.
We have a passion for music, but more than that, we have a passion for serving people – and making sure they have an amazing time.
This is your one wedding and your one chance to turn up and have fun with the people you cherish most. So when we get on a consult call with you, we want to get to know you and ensure we understand your overall vision well. And we want you to know and understand us even more than what you’ve seen on our website and social media.
So here you go – a peek behind the scenes. A “cheat sheet,” if you will, and the questions you can expect during a consultation.
The Important Questions We Ask On Every Consult
At the beginning of a consult, we’ll typically ask how your wedding planning process is going.
- Where are you at in the process, and how far along?
- Have you picked out a venue?
- How did you find your venue?
- What led you to choose that venue?
After that, we’ll move into talking about the music process and what your vision is for entertainment.
- Where do you rate entertainment on a scale from 1-10?
- Are you big music lovers? How about dancing?
- What kind of experience do you want?
- What type of atmosphere and energy are you hoping your DJ will create for you and your guests?
Next, we’ll discuss what you’re looking for in a DJ.
- Are there any fears or concerns you have with hiring a DJ?
- Are there any specific qualities that you desire in an ideal DJ? For example, someone who’s engaging but not intrusive. How about a collaborative planning experience where the DJ gets to know you and your tastes? Or what about someone who can read a crowd and create smooth transitions between the genres? All of the above?
- What if you could have a DJ that could align their skillset with your desired experience? We can totally do that.
- Have you had past experiences where you saw things you did/didn’t like?
Then, we’ll give you an opportunity to ask your questions and let us know what services you want. We’ll answer your questions and provide the information you need to help you make an informed decision.
We can talk budget, too. Do you have an overall budget? Is there a high to low range you can share?
The info we gather from you helps us determine what you want, if we’re a good fit, and if your expectations align with your budget.
The consult also benefits clients in that they typically leave having learned more about the process because we’ve gone deeper with them. When you’re talking with us, you’ll know more about what you want and need – and have a clearer vision of those things. So that even if you don’t choose us, you’ll be able to articulate your vision to another DJ.
The other thing clients take away from our consults is the knowledge that good quality DJs actually exist. Most people have this idea in their mind that DJs are lame/cheesy/boring or whatever. Or they have, unfortunately, bared witness to these people.
But after talking with us, they realize not all DJs are like that – far from it! And they walk away inspired and excited about the possibilities.
If you’re excited about what your entertainment experience could be like, contact us, and we’ll schedule a consultation. You already know what we’re going to ask!
